The distance between the northernmost and southernmost points is 35 km (22 miles) in a straight line, but when following the curvature of the island, it\u2019s closer to 40 km (25 miles). Bonaire is approximately 5 to 11 km (3-7 miles) wide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From the capital city, Kralendijk, you can drive to the village of Rincon, which is located in the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/hopibonaire.com\/en\/blog-scenic-drive-north-bonaire\/\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#5dc0c9\" class=\"has-inline-color\">north<\/mark><\/a><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#5dc0c9\" class=\"has-inline-color\"> <\/mark><\/strong>of Bonaire, in just under half an hour. That&#8217;s a distance of about 17 kilometers (10 miles). In the same amount of time, you can drive to the <a href=\"https:\/\/hopibonaire.com\/en\/blog-scenic-drive-saltpans-bonaire\/\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#5dc0c9\" class=\"has-inline-color\">south<\/mark><\/strong><\/a> of the island. In the north of Bonaire, you will find the <a href=\"https:\/\/hopibonaire.com\/en\/blog-washington-slagbaai-national-park\/\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#5dc0c9\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Washington-Slagbaai National Park<\/mark><\/strong><\/a>, which is a little over 20 kilometers (12 miles) from Kralendijk. It takes about half an hour to get there. From Kralendijk, which is situated in the west, you can reach the <a href=\"https:\/\/hopibonaire.com\/en\/blog-east-coast-bonaire-washikemba-bolivia-onima\/\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#5dc0c9\" class=\"has-inline-color\">east coast<\/mark><\/strong> <\/a>in about 15 minutes, covering a distance of approximately 8 kilometers (5 miles).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Expressed in distances, the island doesn&#8217;t seem very large.
