Sharing island love with visitors
During our tours, guests often express their surprise at how beautiful and diverse Bonaire is. Many travelers still believe that the island we love so much is just a barren rock. We counter this misconception through our blogs, where we invite you to discover the island’s stunning spots and rich natural surroundings. We also enjoy helping you make the most of your time on Bonaire, for instance, by encouraging you to explore independently.
Our blogs
Explore our blogs to discover more about the various birds, butterflies, lizards, and other Nature in Bonaire you will likely encounter during your stay. For example, while Hiking on Bonaire. In our blog series, Vacation in Bonaire, we assist travelers considering Bonaire as their holiday destination to get started. And don’t miss our series, Discovering Bonaire, where we describe and showcase every nook and cranny of the island.
All blogs are practical and contain maps, infographics, and helpful tips. We create every blog ourselves, using our own experiences, photos, and passion for the island. Off the beaten path
We encourage every visitor to Bonaire to explore the island by rental car, scooter, or golf cart. Along the paved roads, there’s so much to discover: 1000 Steps, Lake Goto, Rincon, the salt pans, and the slave huts. Naturally, we include these locations in our tours, although we always strive to avoid the crowds.
But there’s so much more to see and experience on Bonaire — from deserted lunar landscapes, dramatic blowholes, and caves with ancient rock art to breathtaking ocean views and lakes teeming with flamingos and other beautiful birds. And all of it is just for you because off the beaten path, we rarely encounter anyone. For those who are interested, we’re happy to take a short hike to help you get better acquainted with the landscape and nature.
The untouched side of Bonaire has captured our hearts, and we are excited to share that love with you.
Wonder
The flamingo is Bonaire’s icon and a true favorite among visitors. Tourists are often happy to pause for a moment, snap a few quick photos, and then move on. But once you learn that these large birds feed on the tiniest particles, fly to Venezuela with ease, court each other extensively, lay just one egg per year, and that the lighter-colored ones are still young, the magic of the flamingo really starts to show. This is especially true when you take a closer look through the binoculars. We always bring those with us!
Understanding what you’re observing makes the experience significantly more meaningful. Allow yourself to be amazed by the special stories, facts, objects, and background information we love to share. With wonder as our secret ingredient, you get to appreciate our beautiful island and its unique inhabitants on a much deeper level.
Want to learn everything about Bonaire’s flamingos? Check out our photo blog, The Flamingos of Bonaire. We share many fascinating details about these magnificent birds in it. Almost all of them—because the most amazing stories are ones we love to share in person!

Personal attention
We only offer private tours. Real private tours—just your group. This way, you can fully enjoy each other’s company, the tranquility, and the island itself, all at your own pace, completely hassle-free and tailored to your interests and preferences. We are flexible and happy to adjust the tour to your wishes. Everyone is different, which makes every tour unique!
But we go even further. Not only do we offer personal attention during the tour, but also beforehand. Throughout our unique booking process, we take the time to get to know you better. Who will be joining you? Do you enjoy hiking? And which drinks would make you happy during the tour? After all, island love isn’t something you share with just a bottle of water. We care about providing good service and believe a private tour deserves a touch of class! After the tour, we also follow up and send you the photos we took of you and the wildlife we admired together. A beautiful reminder of your adventure on Bonaire!

We feel blessed with all the wonderful reviews our guests have left after their tour. You find them on our Review Page and on Google Reviews — and we’re happy to share them with you.

Affordable luxury
We care about delivering excellent service, and we believe a private tour deserves a touch of class.
That’s why you won’t find us on major platforms like Viator or GetYourGuide, nor can you book us through the cruise lines. We don’t spend money on pricey online ads. The advertising costs and commissions we save—up to 25% for booking platforms and even 70% for cruises—are directly invested into enhancing the quality of your tour.
You explore the island in a clean, comfortable pickup with air conditioning. Along the way, we bring well-stocked coolers filled with ice-cold drinks, fresh fruit, and other snacks. During full-day tours, we invite you to enjoy an extended lunch at one of the island’s most beautiful shady spots.

Committed to the island
We often visit places that few people go to. There, we serve as eyes and ears for various animal welfare organizations on the island. When we encounter an animal in need, we help.
We also show our love for the island by protecting nature. We do this in several ways:
- Informing people who unknowingly walk into protected areas.
- Observing and photographing birds without disturbing them.
- Cleaning up litter.
- Maintaining trails.
- Not feeding wild animals.
- Preparing our guests thoroughly before guided snorkels.
- Speaking up when others accidentally damage the reef.
- Volunteering.
We ended the tour with (many) flamingos, and we even rescued a night heron. We brought it to the bird rescue center, which was a special experience.
HopiBonaire was founded and is run by a travel-loving couple. Curious about our personal story? Read Our guides. Want to know how we’ve been featured in the media? Check out In the media.
