“In 2021, our adventure on Bonaire began. Bas had left his job in education to write a photography book, and Jessica brought her work as a marketing and communications specialist to the island. Alongside our jobs, we had plenty of free time to explore. Half-jokingly, we said we wanted to ‘complete’ Bonaire. We’ve come a long way — and we’re still discovering new places and activities.
Over the years, we’ve welcomed many friends from the Netherlands to our island. We loved sharing the richness of our new home with them. That enthusiasm sparked the birth of HopiBonaire. Our first tour took place on January 18, 2023.
On our tours, we love visiting places that remain hidden to many visitors, simply because they’re not along the main roads. These spots often reveal even more beauty and fascinating backstories. Because even in our new life on Bonaire, we still love telling stories!”
