My family of 7 spent the day with HopiBonaire during our cruise port and it was the best decision we could have made! Since their tours are private you will have complete control over your itinerary including what parts of the island you want to see and how often you want to stop.

We had three little kids with us and Sebastian and Jessica were so accommodating every step of the way whether it was helping the kids along short hikes, making too many bathroom pit stops or pulling out snacks when they were getting antsy. We did the half day tour and we were able to see so much of the island without it feeling rushed or chaotic. We enjoyed the most amazing afternoon lunch by the water with homemade food and drinks – no detail went unnoticed.

We could not have enjoyed a better day than we did with HopiBonaire! We hope to return someday and will absolutely book another tour with Sebastian and Jessica. Highly recommend!!

We are very active cruisers and the main thing we enjoy doing while cruising is exploring. We have taken a private tour with many private guides in many Caribbean islands, but none that come close to the level of professionalism, education and personally crafted tours as the tour we took.

We cannot express enough how much we would recommend this tour. There are other tour busses out there, and we saw them while we were out touring, but while they went to the crowded touristy spots, we were taken to breathtaking spots where our only “crowds” were wildlife.

We learned more in our tour about Bonaire on our tour than we could have learned watching 1,000 YouTube videos. My wife and I enjoyed a private, AC cooled and extremely clean pickup truck that was comfortable and also able to take us to remote areas that we cannot express how amazing they are, AND still got to see all the other highlights that everyone else says are must sees like the salt pans, the flamingos, the huts, 1,000 steps, etc. We saw it all and were given the most thoughtful insights to everything we saw while we were seeing them.

If you are going to Bonaire, and you want to see everything, this tour is perfect and worth every penny! 7 hours went by in the blink of an eye and we left wishing we had more time. We didn’t need to get right back on our ship, so we asked for a restaurant tip and were given a place that was AMAZING as well. I’m honestly not sure if there are many people out there that know Bonaire as well as Sebastian and HopiBonaire!

HopiBonaire is an excellent company to tour the island of Bonaire. The owner is very knowledgeable and very friendly.

We rode all over the south end of the island in a comfortable air-conditioned truck. We learned about the history and economy of the island while seeing all the natural beauty that exists on this island. Such a beautiful island! We visited all the advertised sites, but also places that only the locals know about. We were provided a wonderful snack and took a break on a beautiful beach and had a local beer. We ended the tour at the salt lakes and even got a bag of food grade salt to take home.

I 100% recommend this company to you if you are interested in quality and quantity for your money.

We have taken many tours in the Caribbean, but our hands-down favorite was the one led by Sebastian around the north side of the island. We encountered almost no other tourists at any point along the way, which made the experience feel incredibly special. The tour included a hike, visits to hidden caves, breathtaking vistas, wildlife viewing (flamingos, donkeys, goats, tropical birds, and iguanas), and fascinating historical sites.

Sebastian’s enthusiasm was contagious, and his deep love for and knowledge of Bonaire were truly exceptional. The truck was comfortable, the snacks were a delightful touch, and – as a bonus – he is an outstanding photographer. Our only regret is that we didn’t book the full-day tour. But that just means he has given us the perfect reason to return to this beautiful island and experience the rest of their offerings!

We had an amazing morning with Jessica on New Years Eve. She was so knowledgeable, friendly and took some amazing pics on her professional camera. We saw so many sites and Jessica gave wonderful background information on each site and how the island is preserving its wildlife and natural resources.

We had a multigenerational group with several who already visited the island with everyone raving about Jessica showing us parts of the island we had never seen. This tour was a last minute find after one participant broke their foot and could not do the other tour planned. Jessica accommodated our group last minute and it was one of the highlights of our vacation to the ABC islands. She also took amazing photos with her camera of the wildlife that highlighted and documented in HD our amazing encounters.

I cannot recommend Jessica and Hopibonaire enough. 5 stars

A truly unforgettable and authentic Bonaire experience

I cannot recommend Hòpi Bonaire highly enough. We flew over from Curaçao for a one day trip and from the moment we landed, everything was seamless. We were met at the airport with a warm welcome and taken on what can only be described as the most authentic and soul-stirring tour of Bonaire.

Our guide’s knowledge of the island, its wildlife, nature, history and hidden stories was second to none. He took us to places we would never have found on our own – beautiful spots completely off the beaten track that really allowed us to feel the true heart of Bonaire. We saw flamingos, blow holes, pink lakes, salt mounds, and even hiked to one of the most breathtaking viewpoints I’ve ever experienced.

One of the highlights was a romantic, home-made lunch in a stunning secluded location. The food was absolutely delicious and made the whole experience feel incredibly personal. Later, we enjoyed a relaxed drink together – a beer and a wine – before being dropped back at the airport for our flight back to Curaçao.

The entire trip was effortless to organise and unbelievably easy to do as a day trip from a neighbouring island. If you want a genuine, immersive and truly memorable experience of Bonaire, you absolutely need to book with Hòpi Bonaire. These guys are exceptional at what they do, and they gave us a day we’ll never forget.

When we travel ,we always seek out nature. Bonaire, still a peaceful Island, offers plenty of opportunities to discover and admire it all.

Our guide “Bas” gave us a perfect explanation about their wildlife, its culture, it’s history and all secret spots of Bonaire. Bas provided us a delicious homemade lunch which we ate at the most idyllic spot. This made our trip complete. Thank you Bas for our wonderful day in your paradise, a trip we will never forget.

Ps : the photo’s you send us where absolutely stunning. By the way your tapenade was amazing to 😉

If you want Quality, this is a highly recommended tour.

My husband and I just had the most wonderful 7 hr island tour with Sebastian. It was outstanding. He listened to our interests through numerous email exchanges and boy did he deliver. We got a taste of Bonaire which we could never have had on a group tour.

He is very knowledgeable and shared the history and geology of Bonaire. Moreover he shared his love of the island. We went into a cave which I’m sure no bus tour would venture. We got up close and personal with the flamingoes. Sebastian explained their habitat and mating rituals.

As it happens he is a professional photographer as well. My husband has a similar interest and I’m an artist, so he took time to take us to some fabulous off road sights….exploring private colourful beaches, blow holes, driftwood art on the beach, pointing out native birds, trees indigenous to the area ( one 500 years old). It was the best day of our vacation.

Thank you Sebastian and a shout out to his wife who prepared a lovely lunch which we had under a tree canopy facing the ocean. We strongly recommend starting early as there is just so much to take in on the beauties island.

We have hired private tour guides through many cruise ports over the years, and Sebastian with Hopibonaire Island Tours is, without a doubt, the best tour guide we have ever had. From the moment we met him, it was clear that he is passionate about showing visitors the very best of Bonaire. He speaks excellent English, is incredibly knowledgeable about the history and culture of the island, and is genuinely friendly, attentive, and fun to be with.

This was not a standard cruise ship tour — no crowded buses, no rushed stops. Instead, we had a fully private, personalized tour that could be completely customized to our interests. Sebastian was wonderfully flexible, letting us decide how long we wanted to spend at each location, or suggesting spots that he knew we would love. We chose a 4–5 hour tour, but you could easily do less or even a bit more if you wanted.

He went above and beyond in every way. He provided snacks, drinks, beach chairs, and even set up a little table with treats while we were relaxing on the beach. While snorkeling, he went in the water with us, helping us see all the beautiful marine life and making the experience safe and enjoyable. After snorkeling, he even had water bottles full of warm water for us to rinse off the saltwater — such a thoughtful touch that made a huge difference. He also took professional photos throughout the day, including in the water while we snorkeled, and sent all of them to us afterward — it was like having our very own personal photographer capturing the whole adventure!

The sights we visited were absolutely breathtaking. We saw the salt pyramids and were amazed at the beautiful pink flamingos mating nearby. The water in that area changed color in the most stunning way — sometimes a delicate pink, sometimes an icy blue. We also visited the historic slave huts and Pink Beach, where the scenery was just as incredible. Driving along the coast, we were treated to views of sparkling turquoise waters on the other side of the road, making every moment feel like paradise.

Sebastian’s vehicle was spotless, extremely comfortable, and perfectly suited for a day of exploring the island. Every little detail was taken care of, making the entire experience seamless, relaxing, and enjoyable. The price for this incredible, fully customized tour was very reasonable, especially for everything that was included.

If you’re visiting Bonaire and want a truly exceptional, private, and personalized tour, Sebastian and Hopibonaire Island Tours are the absolute best. He is knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely cares about making your day special. This was hands-down the most memorable and perfect tour we have ever taken, and we cannot recommend him highly enough!

Tailor-made Tour

My husband and I along with our best friends just did this trip and if I could give Sabastian a 10 star review I would.

He was very knowledgeable of the island and it’s history. This is a private tour so he took us where we wanted to go. We wanted to see the salt flats so that is where he took us. On the way to the flats he stopped at some of the most prettiest spots of the island and provided us with a refreshing snack.

Once we left the salt flats we wanted to go snorkeling so he took us to the prettiest place to see all the Beautiful fish. He even went snorkeling with us and also provided us with another snack and drinks. After we were done snorkeling he asked if we were ready to take a warm shower. I didn’t get a picture of it but yes he provided us with a warm shower. He had these big over sized water bottles with holes in it and that he poured over our head just like a shower, so when I tell you they are over the top, they are over the top.

I have taken many private tours but this one was hands down the best.

Tailor-made Tour

We’ve been to many cruise ports and hired tour guides in each, but Sebastian was by far the BEST guide we’ve ever had.

From the moment he picked us up in his clean, comfortable pickup truck, we knew we were in good hands. His English is excellent, and he provided drinks, snacks, chairs, even a table stocked with treats at the beach — everything you could possibly need for a perfect day.

Sebastian really went above and beyond with snorkeling. He showed us how to get in and out of the water safely, guided us through the reefs, and made sure we saw all the amazing fish and marine life. Plus, he was our personal photographer, even in the water, and sent us the photos afterward.

He also showed us the salt pyramids, the slave huts, the pink beach, and more. His knowledge of Bonaire’s history is deep and genuine — not just the usual tourist stuff, but real stories and context.

He was also super flexible with the itinerary, letting us customize our stops and timing. This was not a canned, pre-set ship tour. It felt like a private, personalized adventure just for us.

If you go to Bonaire and want to truly experience the island, don’t settle for a standard tour. Request Sebastian. You’ll be talking about your day with him for years.

We booked a private photo tour for our day in Bonaire. All communication leading up to our day in Bonaire was super quick, knowledgeable, and professional.

Jessica met us a short walk outside of the cruise terminal. She gave us our options to go photograph, and away we went. She took us to the east side of the island, away from everyone. The scenery was stunning! There are no words capable of describing the beautiful views everywhere we looked. We got to visit the old lighthouse, a cave with aboriginal cave art, blow holes, several bocas to see the crashing sea, wild flamingos, and finally the breathtaking colors of Boca di Lac.

We were never rushed, but we still saw everything we wanted. Jessica’s knowledge of the island and its history were top notch. She had cold waters and fresh snacks for us. We cannot wait to go back and take our daughters with us. We will absolutely go right back to Jessica and her husband.

We had an absolutely wonderful private tour of Bonaire! From start to finish, the experience was nothing short of amazing. Our guide, Bas, was exceptionally kind, well-informed, and passionate about sharing the beauty and history of the island. He explained so much about how Bonaire was formed and its fascinating history, adding depth to everything we saw.

The island is incredibly diverse, both geographically and culturally, and the tour highlighted its hidden treasures. We enjoyed spotting stunning birds and visiting unique landmarks, all from the comfort of an air-conditioned vehicle—a huge plus on a warm day!

Lunch was another highlight—a delicious meal by the water, enjoyed under the shade of a tree. It was so relaxing and perfectly timed, as were the snacks and beverages provided along the way.

We were given lots of opportunities to get out of the vehicle to see things up close and our guide, a professional photographer, emailed us digital photos he had taken during the tour.

We genuinely didn’t want the day to end. This was, hands down, the best excursion we’ve ever taken from a cruise ship. If you’re considering a tour of Bonaire, don’t hesitate—this is an unforgettable experience!

My sister and I used HopiBonaire to tour the island during our Feb. 2025 cruise stop to Bonaire. The email conversations back-and-forth were very timely and provided all information that was needed. Due to some mobility issues there was a concern about the height of the vehicle and the ability to get in. I was sent photos of the transportation as well as height indicators, so I would know the vehicle was accessible.

We met Sebastian (Bas), one of the owners, of the company at the arranged spot just outside of the cruise port. They even provided a map of how to get to the location, as well as a photo of the meet up spot. The vehicle he picked us up in was immaculate.

Our tour was 6+ hours and we felt like it really showed us the island. It is obvious Bas loves his beautiful island home and is very proud to show it to others. Bas is a nature photographer, and he has a lot of knowledge on the nature on the island. I didn’t feel like we were rushed to go from place to place, yet we were able to traverse the entire island.

When I visit a new location, I try to do a tour. I have been on several tours before, many of them, private tours, and have never experienced a tour that was so full of details for the comfort of the visitor. At one stop, we had the opportunity to have some fruit and some other snacks along with a drink. We were also provided a homemade lunch at a picnic table right in a little cove area. He also provided additional snacks and drinks after we snorkeled. As part of the tour, we were provided photos that we could download that Bas had taken a various scenes along the island, as well as of my sister and I.

It was definitely a more meaningful trip to Bonaire by having someone passionate about the island show us its beauty. I am so glad we didn’t try to see the island on our own, or we never would have seen all the beautiful sites of Bonaire.

Island Tour with Guided Snorkel

We were so fortunate to be able to book a last minute all-day private tour with Sebastian on a Sunday in early January. The tour came highly recommended and it was a great recommendation! Now I am thrilled to recommend the Mesmerizing Bonaire tour to anyone who loves learning about the history, wildlife and culture of the beautiful island.

If you are arriving to Bonaire via cruise ship, do not be concerned about taking this excursion! Bas will get you back to the ship on time!!

Bas took photos of the wildlife as we journeyed around the island. We learned about the differences between the four areas of the island as we traveled off-road to places we never would have seen on our own. Most of the time, there was no one else around us so we know that we visited incredible sights that no other tour company visits.

And as if that wasn’t enough, Bas brought snacks for us in the morning and provided a wonderful beach-side lunch while we enjoyed the view and chatted about life on Bonaire.

Thank you Bas! We enjoyed our time together, your fantastic photography and your vast knowledge that provided an experience we will never forget. It was a perfect day!

Fourteen days in the Caribbean, and the day we spent on Bonaire with Jessica and Bas was the best of all. It was Christmas Day and these two wonderful people shared both their holiday and their island 🏖️with us in a day filled with beauty and wonder as we travelled the length and breadth of the island and snorkelled in crystal clear waters. The day was filled with incredible sights of both natural and historical significance, and each was accompanied with exactly the right amount of information to make each experience more special.

The planning and communication prior to our tour date was immaculate. We were met at the cruise port right on time at 9am. We had a message the evening before with a photo of the meeting point, which was extremely helpful.

Over the next 7 hours, we visited plantation ruins and learned of the tragic history of slavery on Bonaire. We saw wildlife in places of natural beauty which we’d have not found on our own. We saw ancient indigenous drawings, remarkable in their original locations. We had a delicious homemade picnic lunch on a secluded beach, after spending an hour or more on a guided reef snorkel.

The day was well planned, down to the intermittent restroom breaks and the binoculars available for each of us. Cold drinks and refreshing snacks were available from a cooler all day.

I could go on…but let’s leave it at this. Your visit to Bonaire will be so much better if you take a tour with Hopi Bonaire ♥️ As a bonus, both professional grade nature photos and underwater photos were shared with us the next day!

We always book private tours so have lots of experience with guides but can honestly say that Jessica from Hopi Bonaire is more than you can hope for. She did a perfect job!

She showed us “her” Bonaire, the island she fell in love with. We could instantly feel her passion for the beautiful nature and the conservation of it. She also took us off road to the more hidden parts of the island.

She is a good photographer so afterwards, we received many nice pictures of our day together. She is so well prepared and has everything you could need in the trunk of her car: from homemade fruitsalad as a morning snack to snorkeling gear, beach towels and a first aid kit. She also prepared a delicious picknick which we took to a quiet viewpoint, truely memorable.

We finished our day with snorkeling at a beautiful reef where she was so patient and encouraging to me since I was feeling a little nervous about this. And she even had an underwater camera to get some nice shots of us and the fishes.

Conclusion for us: She is the perfect guide! If you’re looking for a way to discover Bonaire as a local: Book her. You won’t be dissapointed.

Our time with Jessica at HopiBonaire was amazing. She took time before the tour to find out exactly what my family wanted and customized a tour just for us. She is a great advocate for her home, and we felt we were seeing the island with a friend rather than a tour company. We explored the back country along the coast, hiked for some amazing views of the national park and learned about the island’s history. Jessica made sure we were comfortable, and had drinks and snacks to keep the kids (and adults) happy!

If you want to understand Bonaire and see the island through local eyes, do not hesitate to use HopiBonaire.

Our mesmerizing south coast tour was the absolute best. I’d like to start by saying we have travelled a lot and taken many tours but this was by far the best tour we have ever had!

We were met at the designated spot and treated to the most amazing afternoon. Bas was so knowledgable and engaging and shared stellar photos with us that he took. The entire afternoon exceeded our expectations and have made us want to go back to Bonaire…and take another tour!

Don’t miss this opportunity if you are in Bonaire!

We recently spent a wonderful day with Jessica exploring the beautiful island of Bonaire. I cannot say enough great things about Jessica and Hopibonaire. From the moment we met her, she made us feel like family.

She showed us a lot of different parts of the island, took us to an amazing snorkel spot, and took us to a peaceful viewpoint and made us a delicious picnic. This is what really sets this company apart from others is the attention to details. She was very knowledgeable about the island and the information she gave us was interesting and easy to retain.

She provided homemade tea, snacks, and beverages throughout the trip. The best part is, you do not have to worry about taking pictures because she takes amazing photographs and sends them to you after your trip. This lets you relax and enjoy the island.

I cannot thank Jessica and hopibonaire enough for an incredible day. I highly recommended booking a trip with them because her love for the island is contagious and you will want to return again and again.

Jessica provided an excellent private day tour to my family. She was a pleasure to work with planning in advance to customize our agenda, and made sure every detail was considered every step of the way on our tour.
